About Us
Art & Soul Rowan, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. We were founded in 1995 by Dr. J. Daniel Brown under the name "Center for Faith & the Arts". Twenty-nine years later, Art & Soul continues his vision. The seeds that Dr. Brown planted have not only grown but flourished, branching out in new directions. Responding to the questions and issues of our modern culture, Art & Soul has found its niche in the community.
For the past several years, Art & Soul Rowan, formerly Center for Faith & the Arts, has been contemplating the power of art to be transformative in healing both community and individuals as they seek to live in an empowered purpose filled way. We felt a name change to Art & Soul Rowan and subsequent logo change to be an opportunity to create a more expansive and joyful invitation to everyone in our community. Art can be a gathering place that bridges the divides of faith and acknowledges our common humanity. Creative expression has the potential to cultivate wholeness, heal brokenness and foster spirit filled living. We want our new name, Art & Soul Rowan and the visual of the new logo to be uplifting, opening the door so everyone feels welcome and joins together in creating a more vibrant community.

Volunteers Needed!
If you believe in our mission, and want to volunteer your time to help us bring creative expression and contemplation throughout Rowan County please reach out. We would love to have you join our efforts.

If you are interested in perhaps serving on our Board of Directors you can contribute your skills help us better serve Rowan County. Our Board of Directors adds new members during its Annual Meeting in December. Board commitment is a three year term, with 4 quarterly board meetings and optional monthly zoom informational meetings. We are always looking for new Board members who believe in the mission and work of Art & Soul Rowan and have the willingness to bring their gifts to the table.
We can use volunteer help with programming, event planning, human resources, outreach/ marketing, design, and accounting/finance.
