Henderson Class

Class Act:

Through our "Class Act" program at Henderson Alternative School, we have been working with students using art, writing, and spoken word to help them discovery self worth, cope with the pressures of their life, and find healing from the pains they have suffered. Through our program we have effectively made great strides in their engagement and self worth.

Selected artists are provided program stipends, art studio spaces, and facility resources so they can spend their time focusing on their creative practice. During their residency they are encouraged to hosts classes, lead programs, and host a gallery exhibition or performance.  We often create resident events where we invite the community to join as we celebrate their developing bodies of work.
